SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Barnet, London. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a bright Year 4 student with ADHD, helping her manage impulsive behaviour and stay focused in class. If you have experience in behaviour management and can anticipate challenges before they arise, this is the ideal opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Support a Year 4 student with ADHD to remain focused and engaged in lessons.

• Implement behaviour management strategies to ensure positive outcomes.

• Anticipate and preempt potential challenges in the classroom.

• Assist during movement breaks and lunch to support the student's needs.

• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored interventions.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with ADHD or other SEN needs.

• Strong behaviour management skills and a patient, empathetic approach.

• The ability to observe, anticipate, and preempt challenges.
