About the Pub

The Dante Arms is a traditional country pub with exposed beams, roaring fires, home-cooked food and cask ales. This 16th century Inn is full of character and Middleham is famous for its many Racehorse yards that are based in and around it. Arranged into three seating areas, including a split-level main lounge with 26 covers, a small snug provides seating for 12 and the separate restaurant area has 16 covers. Throughout the pub, the décor is very traditional and cosy with exposed ceiling beams, wooden flooring, stone walls and a large open fireplace. The kitchen is ample and fully equipped, currently providing an a la carte menu to the restaurant, which could be developed further to enhance this revenue stream. The pub has a lovely south-facing beer garden and patio with picnic benches. This is a pleasant area and an ideal spot for breakfast or an al fresco evening meal during the warmer months. Additional seating placed at the front of the pub allows guests to take in the activities of the market square. There are seven en-suite letting rooms spread over two floors, these are in good condition with a separate entrance from the pub which is a great chance to earn additional revenue. The private accommodation consists of one bedroom, a lounge and a kitchen, all in good decorative order.

Many of the current clientele come from the local horse training yards in and around Middleham, along with the tourist trade that the horse racing brings in. This is supplemented by additional trade from walkers and other locals.
