Placement Officer

Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £30 umbrella an hour (£22 PAYE an hour)

Wokingham Borough Council are looking for a Placement Officer to join their Children's Services.

Responsibilities:

Review and benchmark existing commissioned services, where appropriate negotiate fee reduction
Respond positively and professionally to referrals by Social Workers, ensuring the quality of information enables the identification of placements
Attend and contribute to Social Care Forums and cost panels
Lead fee negotiation for new services
Support Children's services teams with placements
Enhance outcomes for children in care and those transitioned out of care by effectively coordinating and identifying quality placementsRequirements:

Experience of working in Children's Social Care or equivalent
Previous Children's brokerage experience
Experience of working in a fast pace environment
Experience of working in a complex multi-agency environment
Have due regard to health and safety in relation to self and children in care whilst identifying potential placements
