Procurement Lead - SAP S4 HANA Migration - What You'll be Doing:
Seeking a seasoned procurement practitioner with extensive experience in ERP sourcing and supplier negotiation, particularly in global, highly visible and complex technology transformation programs. This role will focus on preparing a comprehensive negotiation strategy for transitioning the ERP system from SAP ECC (ERP Central Component) to SAP S4 HANA & an assessment of the business case for SAP RISE, for a FTSE 100 company or equivalent. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring contract terms align with the organisation’s technology and business objectives.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Negotiation Strategy Development: lead and project manage the preparation of a negotiation strategy that focuses on securing the best possible terms, including but not limited to pricing, support, maintenance, and license agreements. Collaborate with external consultants (& hold them to account) to utilize benchmarking data, market analysis and negotiation tactics to achieve the most favourable discount levels and overall outcome (TCO).
- Strategic Planning and Analysis: support a thorough needs analysis to understand the organization’s requirements for moving from SAP ECC to SAP S4 HANA. Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop a migration roadmap that aligns with the organization’s business and IT strategy, including optimal (ERP) product acquisition.
- Risk Management: identify and mitigate risks associated with the migration, including cost overruns, contract compliance, data security, and operational continuity. Work closely with legal, finance, and risk management teams to ensure all potential risks are addressed in the negotiation strategy.
- Stakeholder Engagement: collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, legal, and senior management, to align on objectives, strategy, and key deliverables for the migration project. Conduct regular updates to communicate progress and gather input for ongoing strategy refinement.
- Contract Review and Negotiation: review contract terms to ensure they include favourable clauses for renewal, scalability, exit options, and performance metrics.
- Supplier Relationship Management: support the Global Director in the development and maintenance of relationships with key SAP stakeholders to foster a collaborative partnership that ensures business requirements are met at competitive terms.
Procurement Lead - SAP S4 HANA Migration - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:
- Proven track record of successful negotiation and supplier management, ideally within the context of SAP or other enterprise software agreements.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP ECC and S4 HANA, and a solid understanding of the technological and operational implications of ERP migrations.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to conduct cost analyses and manage project budgets effectively.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
