Exciting Opportunity for a Head of Year at a Thriving Secondary School in South Manchetser!

Are you a hardworking and ambitious individual looking to make a difference in education? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated Head of Year to join a popular Secondary Academy in Oldham. This full-time position is available for an immediate start and has the potential to extend until the end of the next academic year. The salary for this role is up to £110 per day, depending on your experience and qualifications. While school experience is preferable, it is not essential.

The school takes pride in its recent 'Good' rating in the Ofsted inspection and is known for creating an inclusive, energetic learning environment that fosters excellence, aspiration, leadership, and success. As the Head of Year, you will be responsible for managing the school's library as a resource base and providing intervention support. Your role will also involve demonstrating strong behavior management skills and acting as a positive role model for students.

Requirements for this position include previous experience working in a Secondary school setting, adaptability across subjects, and a good general knowledge. A patient and nurturing approach is essential, and the ability to engage with students both in and out of the classroom is highly valued. A good sense of humour, approachability, and flexibility are also sought after qualities.

Your regular tasks will include providing support to students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, collaborating with class teachers, and working within a strong and supportive leadership team and governing body. A good understanding of differentiation and behaviour management is vital for this role.

The school is conveniently located in South Manchetser, with excellent public transport links to Manchester City Centre and ample parking available.
