My ASC Specialist school are looking for a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Form Tutor for a small group of learners in our transition department. In this role, you will also lead the PSHE curriculum, teaching secondary pupils and those in transition. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact, providing high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement in PSHE.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional support to each learner, working closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff.
  • Deliver a curriculum tailored to each learner’s stage of development, age, and ability, using agreed assessment procedures to set SMART targets.
  • Plan and implement Individual Education Programmes (IEPs) and Student Support Plans in alignment with curriculum policies.
  • Create differentiated learning experiences, assess progress regularly, and maintain detailed records.
  • Lead the classroom team, guiding them to support high-quality learning experiences for all learners.
  • Organise and manage the classroom, including supervising lunchtime and break times.
  • Prepare for and attend annual reviews, case conferences, and parents' meetings as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with learners' families, making home visits where appropriate.
  • Reflect on your practice and seek opportunities for professional improvement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee specific curriculum areas or key stages.
  • Collaborate with relevant agencies and families to address each learner’s needs and future goals.
  • Carry out any other duties requested by the Head Teacher that align with the role and its scope.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • GCSEs at grade C/Level 4 or above in English, Maths, and Science
  • Training or qualifications in special education
  • Specialised knowledge in teaching children with autism and anxiety
  • Clean driving licence
