Echelon Engineers is recruiting on behalf of a leading metallurgy manufacturing company specialising in advanced materials processing technologies. With over 30 years of experience and an international customer base, our client is at the forefront of innovation and R&D in developing cutting-edge processing solutions.

We are seeking a Senior Research and Development Engineer to strengthen their technical team. This role will focus on developing advanced production processes, supporting new product development, and collaborating with engineering on new plant designs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Analyse data, troubleshoot processes, and optimize production yields and economics.

* Collaborate with engineering on plant designs and system modifications.

* Work on producing new materials to meet customer specifications.

* Present technical information to both internal teams and customers.

* Develop detailed technical reports and assist in drafting plant specifications.

Key Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field with 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

* Proven experience in delivering technical projects and process improvements.

* Strong problem-solving and project management skills.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

* Must be eligible to work in the UK and willing to travel internationally as required.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience with materials handling, processing, and manufacturing.

* Knowledge of flowsheets, P&IDs, and metal melting processes.

* Familiarity with heat transfer systems and gas/water handling.

* Experience managing or working in technical teams.
