Assistant Accountant Location: Camden, LondonSalary: Up to £35k (depending on experience)Work Arrangement: 4 days in the office, Fridays working from homeWe're recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a fast-paced, dynamic e-commerce company based near vibrant Camden Town. This is a hands-on role in a business that's going places, so we're looking for someone with strong accounting skills, the ability to think on their feet, and a proactive attitude.This is a predominantly office-based role, with Mondays to Thursdays spent in the buzzing Camden office and Fridays working from home. If you thrive in a collaborative, in-person environment and love rolling up your sleeves to support the wider team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.What You'll Be Doing:* Managing UK supplier payments and recording transactions in the company's accounting software, Access.* Assisting with interbank currency transfers, product royalty calculations, and exchange rate entries.* Preparing stock valuation reports and helping with quarterly VAT returns (including deferred/postponed VAT).* Reconciling payment portals such as PayPal and Braintree.* Processing staff expenses and analysing credit card statements.* Preparing commission statements, raising invoices, and managing direct debit entries.* Supporting the team with ad hoc tasks and acting as a point of contact for external credit controllers.What We're Looking For:* Ideally AAT qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent).* Proven experience in a bookkeeping or assistant accountant role, with strong double-entry skills.* Confidence using accounting software (Access experience is a bonus).* Quick thinking, with the ability to adapt to new challenges and work under pressure.* A team player who's not afraid to get their hands dirty and support the wider team when needed.* Strong communication skills and an eye for detail.What's in It for You:* A fulfilling role in an ambitious and growing e-commerce business.* A vibrant, supportive office culture in a creative environment close to Camden Town's buzz.* Learn and grow alongside experienced, ambitious individuals.* Flexible working arrangements: 4 days in the office, 1 day from home.This role offers the chance to be part of something exciting and rewarding.
