MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious Engineering client, based near Newcastle, with their plans for growth and expansion, by recruiting a permanent Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This is a static role, where you will be responsible for plant wide proactive and reactive mechanical maintenance activities, to ensure the optimum performance of the factory. You will be joining a secure, dynamic company, with an excellent team-based culture and fantastic opportunities to develop your skills.

The Job You'll Do;

* Promote a culture where the health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues is the absolute priority.

* Ensure all statutory obligations, company policies and procedures are understood and adhered to at all times.

* Act as a role model of company values and behaviours.

* Work with the factory team to implement the strategic plan for the site.

* Utilise a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to facilitate planned preventative maintenance and stock control.

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, service and repairs.

* Carry out reactive maintenance activities as required.

* Ensure all relevant data is recorded accurately.

* Application of the Management System to generate and facilitate continuous improvement practices across all areas of the manufacturing facility to optimise capability.

* Work with the factory team and the wider business to make a positive contribution to the local community.

* Continuously strive to improve the environmental performance of products and operations.

About You;

* Time Served, Advanced Apprenticeship (L3) in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical) or equivalent.

* The ability to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment undertaking PPM and TPM activities

* High degree of Health & Safety awareness

* Ability to fault find, repair and provide solutions to mechanical machinery problems within a production environment

* Maintenance experience and fault diagnosis of Pneumatics and Hydraulics systems

* Computer literate in MS Word and Excel

* Has knowledge of current Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation in a manufacturing workplace
