Job Description Baxterstorey is seeking a visionary and decisive Head Chef to lead our culinary team in London, United Kingdom. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
- Develop and implement innovative menus that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Lead and inspire a team of skilled culinary professionals, fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment
- Manage kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, inventory control, and food cost management
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with the management team to achieve financial targets and improve overall kitchen performance
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control across all meal services
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure the best quality ingredients at competitive prices
- Participate in menu tastings, special events, and customer feedback sessions to continuously improve our culinary offerings
- Stay abreast of industry trends and implement new techniques and technologies to enhance kitchen efficiency and food quality
Qualifications - Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role within high-volume food service operations
- Advanced knowledge of various cuisines and culinary techniques
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and food cost control
- In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, including food hygiene and allergen management
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and profit management
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Up-to-date food hygiene and safety certifications
- Passion for culinary innovation and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
