Reed Further Education are a leading recruitment agency working with colleges, prisons, universities, and training providers across the UK. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with young people and / or adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Job Title: Personal Development Tutor

Position: 37 per week, term time Location: St HelensSalary: £20 per hour Reed Further Education are recruiting Student Support Tutors in St Helens, to work with students in college, to ensure their academic progress and personal development during their studies.Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete inductions for students to the College, to give them a feeling of community and ability to succeed
  • Support students with academic/personal progress and review against targets on an individual basis
  • Deliver group tutorial sessions and activities to cover key personal development themes including Employability, British Values, Equality and Diversity and the PREVENT agenda
  • Meet with relevant managers and staff to discuss pastoral issues affecting any students giving concern and, where necessary, to refer students to more specialist services

Requirements:

  • Level 4 qualification; GCSEs C (4/5) in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Excellent personal tutor, advisor or mentor skills
  • Ability to deliver effective group tutorial sessions, including those on more sensitive topics
  • Good working knowledge of target setting and review methods
  • Commitment to Safeguarding Enhanced DBS check.
