M&E Engineering Team Lead (Commercial Decarbonisation Projects)

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Salary: Circa £80,000 p.a. dependent on experience

Location: The position can be based from offices in London, Leeds, Cardiff or Newcastle, with the opportunity for flexible and hybrid work models. Travel will be required on a regular basis to other operating locations as specified by the Company.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The M&E Engineering Team Lead will involve supporting the Business Development, Commercial, and Operations teams by providing technical and commercial expertise for project implementation, bid generation, and opportunity scoping. Key responsibilities include working on projects from conception to completion, performing design calculations, writing design reports, creating schematics, and maintaining customer communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Additionally, the postholder will manage the commercial engineering team, which handles a variety of projects including schools and hospitals. This requires close collaboration with the Head of Commercial Projects to align resources and track all activities. The role also involves training and mentoring new and junior engineers within the business

Experience/ Skills Required

Engineering degree (BEng/MEng) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
Experience in renewable and low-carbon technologies, including GSHP, ASHP, Solar PV, battery storage, and CHP/grid parallel connections
Obtained or working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers), IMechE (Institute of Mechanical Engineers) or IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology) or already chartered.
Ideally experience of Retrofit Accelerator - Workplaces (formerly RE:FIT) and Salix Public Sector Decarbonisation projects
Skilled in building and plant room surveying
Experienced in designing commercial and domestic building systems
Proficient with AutoCAD software
Familiar with Revit software
UK Driving Licence
