Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work at a large Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Secondary School based in North Tyneside. The successful Learning Support Assistant will have prior experience working with children who have SEND, a strong knowledge base on how to support children within the classroom, and be able to work with children on a 1:1 basis.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.
Leader Education requires the successful candidate to have:
- Experience and knowledge conducting 1:1 or small group support with students, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life
- An ability to assist with classroom activities, providing necessary accommodations and modifications to meet individual students' needs
- Experience and knowledge on monitoring and recording student progress, can report to teachers, and adapt support strategies when needed
- Can assist with behavioural management, ensuring a safe and respectful school environment for all students
