Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations.

Accounts Assistant Work Duties / Responsibilities

Accounts Payable/Expenses


· Monitoring key mailbox accounts and dealing with various communications and answering any queries from suppliers/business.


· Reviewing, obtaining approval and booking all invoices onto financial system (currently Xero).


· Booking all credit card transactions.


· Reconciling all bank accounts weekly.


· Reviewing and preparing expense reimbursement schedule (twice a month).


· Reviewing all supplier statements and preparing payment runs (twice a month) or as needed.


· Maintaining schedule of new suppliers for bank account call backs.


· Comfortable with dealing various VAT issues correctly.


· Maintaining the prepayments and accruals schedules.


· Filing of all invoices, making sure copies are attached in the financial system and filed in the mailbox.


· Having clear structured approach to problem solving with clear action plan and issues to be followed up.

Accounts Receivable


· Monitoring key mailbox accounts and dealing with various communications and answering any queries from customers/business.


· Raising customer invoices on and monthly and quarterly basis in line with Sale’s requirements.


· Controlling credit and chasing debt.


· Proactive and inquisitive nature to learn about the business and where value can be added.


· Comfortable with basis spreadsheets.


· Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.

Project work


· Undertake various adhoc projects as and when required

Qualifications and Skills


· Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.


· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero accounting software.


· Excellent organizational and time management skills.


· Attention to detail, natural curiosity and problem-solving abilities.


· Good communication and interpersonal skills.


· Ability to work independently and part of a small team.


· Must be a comfortable dealing with a variety of tasks.


· Must be structured and well organized.

Education


· A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.


· Relevant certifications (e.g., AAT) are a plus.
