The Role:
The Head of Conveyancing will be responsible for leading and managing the conveyancing department, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves overseeing all residential property transactions, driving business development, and managing a team of solicitors and support staff to achieve departmental goals.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Department Leadership: Define and implement the strategic vision for the conveyancing department, ensuring alignment with the firm’s broader objectives.
- Case Management: Oversee the handling of residential conveyancing matters, ensuring efficiency and quality control.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all conveyancing transactions comply with legal, regulatory, and professional standards, mitigating potential risks.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert legal advice and ensuring a high level of service.
- Team Leadership & Development: Mentor, train, and supervise solicitors, conveyancers, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Business Development: Identify and implement strategies to attract new clients and grow the department’s revenue.
- Operational Efficiency: Develop and refine processes to improve efficiency and ensure seamless conveyancing transactions.
About You:
- Extensive experience in residential conveyancing, with a proven track record of handling complex transactions.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing legal professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of conveyancing regulations, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent client relationship and business development skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage high caseloads while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer, or equivalent with relevant professional accreditations
