Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for a Head of Employer Management Services for our Public Sector client.

Key responsibilities for the Head of Employer Management Services are;

Oversee a group of individuals that evaluate financial statements, risk registers, and management projections on a regular basis and use discretion to gauge an employer's financial stability
Evaluate more complicated situations in which an employer is going through a lot of change or is having problems and provide top leadership with the necessary advice
Keep improving the covenant evaluation model developed by the company to make sure it stays relevant and changes with the times
Determine the proper security and other covenant safeguards to manage employer risk to the Fund
Constantly establish, fortify, and uphold employer relationships while communicating clearly to guarantee that the company remains an engaged, proactive, and well-managed Fund
Engage in negotiations with key parties to arrive at a solution that suits the company and the employer in regards to matters like contributions, covenants, governance guidelines, etc
Create the companies employer engagement plan in conjunction with our outsourced administrator. This plan will: raise employer awareness of the benefits offered by the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS); improve the companies communication and interaction with employers to continuously improve the employer experience; and guarantee that employers are aware of their legal obligations
Lead and deliver employer-related projects working collaboratively with the EMS team, all company colleagues, and external stakeholders, for example, employer transfers into the Fund, college mergers, triennial valuation covenant evaluations and negotiations
Manage all employer operations, including transfers, mergers, admissions, cessations, accounting disclosures, and so forth; clearly communicate complex financial and pensions ideas to staff members
Examine and uphold pertinent policies so that employers are aware of the company's methodology and their own obligations
Closely collaborate with our external administrator to offer employers a reliable, high-quality service
Oversee the ongoing creation and upkeep of the database containing important employer contacts and connections.

The Ideal candidate for the Head of Employer Management Services will have;

an appropriate accounting credential (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA)
Previous experience working as an auditor, restructuring specialist, pensions covenant specialist, or in any job requiring rigorous evaluation of an organization's financial status
Previous experience working within the LGPS, and preferably experience in a comparable job would be extremely desirable
Experience interacting with external stakeholders, working in a professional capacity to manage these relationships.
