Role Overview

Our client is seeking a full-time Accountant to join their team at their Watford office. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a professional and dynamic environment with opportunities to contribute across various financial functions.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing accounts and VAT submitting personal and corporate tax returns returns for sole traders, companies, and partnerships.
  • Compiling and submitting personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Providing client management accounting services (knowledge of Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks is advantageous but not essential).
  • Accurately inputting and updating financial data.
  • Processing journals and finalising accounts.
  • Supervising accounts work completed by others, including outsourced providers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Part-qualified ACA or ACCA (continuing studies is not mandatory), or
  • AAT Level 4 certification, or
  • Equivalent experience in accounting.
  • Educated to BTEC or A-Level standard.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven experience in an accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with accounting software.
  • A proactive approach to work, with flexibility and adaptability.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage workloads and meet tight deadlines.
