We are currently working with a dynamic and expanding school in the London Borough of Croydon. The school is a specialist Secondary school which provides a nurturing learning community for children and young people aged from 11 to 19 years with Educational Health Care Plans and additional needs. We are currently seeking an experience carpentry teacher/instructor to join their vocational teaching team.

The school believes that every young person has the right to the best possible education and a chance to succeed. They also foster an environment of progression and development for their staff and also offer benefits such as training and career progression as well as a staff discount and benefit scheme.

Job Summary:

* Teach core woodworking skills, including joinery, construction & design

* Plan & deliver lessons that build practical skills and boost confidence in students, preparing them for potential careers in the carpentry trade

* Experience with SEMH is critical however other relevant experience such as working with students in alternative education settings or pupil referral units is suitable as well

* Provide a nurturing and structured environment

* City & Guilds experience welcomed

Key Skills Required:

* This role is suitable for qualified teachers with or without QTS or QTLS as well as Instructors

* Be resilient, show enthusiasm and confidence

* Able to build meaningful and positive relationships with the students
