Qualifications and Experience - Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Sports and Wellness Focus:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in teaching assistance within a specified age range/subject area (or willingness to work towards).
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade A-C/9-4 or equivalent.
  • Relevant HLTA/Teaching Assistant qualifications and experience.
  • A strong background in promoting physical activity and wellness in schools.
  • Experience in leading and managing small groups or interventions.

Role Overview - Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Sports and Wellness Focus:
Are you passionate about empowering young people through sports and wellness-focused education? We are seeking adaptable and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join our teams in Wirral and Liverpool.

If you thrive in creative, supportive environments where children can develop their skills, confidence, and resilience, this role is perfect for you! As an HLTA with a sports and wellness focus, you'll support tailored interventions that enhance students' academic and personal development.

  • Implement high-impact strategies such as sensory circuits and other empowering wellness interventions to engage and support students.
  • Lead creative reintegration programmes to help students transition back into school settings with confidence, through reduced timetables and guided support.
  • Model restorative conversations and scaffold relationships through well-planned sports and wellness activities embedded into the curriculum.

Your role will involve:

  • Supporting students with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
  • Assessing the needs of pupils and using specialist skills to support their learning alongside teaching staff.
  • Creating integration plans and collaborating with staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure smooth transitions for students.
  • Planning engaging out-of-school opportunities that promote teamwork, physical activity, and personal growth.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of interventions, providing feedback to students and staff to track progress.
  • Sharing best practices in sports development and health promotion across schools to inspire a culture of wellness.
