Role summary:

This role will oversee the management of all ROI/NI hub operations. Manage, support, nurture and motivate the Customs Night Shift Team assigned to checking / loading Dublin / Belfast bound vehicles on all matters relating to our ROI/NI services. Record and act on any customs issues or concerns and take corrective actions. Complete customs export and import declarations, reports and recommendations for the business. Implement the DX's Windsor Framework solution ensuring all qualifying goods have a valid clearance prior to being loaded on NI bound vehicles. This will be achieved by working with our Customers, partners and external authorities including HMRC and Revenue Ireland.

Key responsibilities

* Manage a team of up to 5 Customs Entry Clerks / Supervisor plus 3 Hub Operatives and a Hub Team Leader for most efficient operation possible

* Complete / check customs declarations (both export and import - including commodity codes) on our customs platforms in a timely manner

* Ensure internal controls and logs are maintained to guarantee we meet the highest standards of customs compliance

* Raise and log any issues of non-compliance within the Group to the Group Head of Customs to ensure both remedial and permanent corrective action is taken and recorded

* Drive the implementation of the Windsor Framework procedures from 30th September 2024 - on all DX Group sites sending GB-NI vehicles

* Ensure all TSS rejections are checked and resubmitted in good time for GB-NI shipments

* Send nightly bulk upload data file to HMRC for all GB-NI B2C consignments

* Research and resolve customs related Customer and Team enquiries as requested

* Maintain records to satisfy all HMRC and Revenue Ireland requirements and manage the Group's customs audit program

* Be a point of escalation for our Customers and colleagues to ensure all international shipments are coordinated effectively

* Produce or correct driver documentation and ensure all ROI/NI vehicle and Flight details are available in good time to process customs procedures

* Complete additional projects and/or training as and when required

Essential criteria for this role

* Minimum 3 years' Customs experience

* Experience with import/export customs formalities by air or by road

* Experience of Transit / EIDR procedures desirable

* Excellent time management skills

* Possesses strong organisational skills

* Able to work accurately with a keen eye for detail

* Can motivate a team to improve productivity and accuracy

Good communication and interpersonal skills - able to translate complexed rules into plain English instructions

Can-do outlook, who will proactively seek new solutions and challenge their Team to improve or evolve
