Teaching Assistant with SEN Experience

Location: Primary school

SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

You will be working on a 1:1 and group basis with pupils who need additional support. The special needs of the students will include but are not limited to ADHD, ASD and Autism. We are currently seeking SEN Teaching Assistants across all Key Stages.

This role is ideal if you have career aspirations in the field of teaching, psychology, criminology, social work, probation services, care or if you simply love working with children.

SEN Teaching Assistant Experience Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both in one-on-one and small group settings.
Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored support strategies.
Work closely with teachers to adapt and differentiate classroom activities and materials.
Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and confidence.
Monitor and document student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
Support students with emotional and behavioral needs using appropriate strategies.
Assist with personal care tasks when necessary, ensuring the dignity and comfort of students.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance SEN support skills.
Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant include:

Experience and desire to work with children with special educational needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Proactive approach.
