Are you an experienced Import Operator looking for a new opportunity? Our client, a dynamic and fast-paced organisation in the freight management industry, is seeking a talented individual to join their team on a fixed-term contract for 6 months. If you are a methodical and detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills, this could be the perfect role for you!

As an Import Operator, you will play a crucial role in managing specific key customer accounts and ensuring their freight requirements are met. You will be responsible for organising the import of varied cargo using different modes of transportation. Liaising with customers to obtain shipment authorizations and monitoring cargo movements from origin to final destination will be essential in this role. Compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, as well as the management of customs processes, will be a key focus.

Your ability to build and maintain close relationships with customers will be vital in providing excellent service and regular communication regarding shipment progress. You will also be responsible for resolving any customer service issues and preparing documents for invoicing. In addition, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the organisation by identifying new opportunities for lanes and activities.

To excel in this role, you should have previous experience in international shipping and freight forwarding. Knowledge of import activities and familiarity with CargoWise software will be advantageous, although training will be provided. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email is essential, along with strong administrative skills.
