Principal Process Engineer - Nuclear - ManchesterDue to growththe position of Principal Process Engineer for ourNuclear divisionhas become available to join our vibrant team based in Manchester.

Costain provides engineering services to the Energy, Water, Transport, Nuclear and Defence sectors. The Process Engineering Discipline primarily works on Energy Transition; Energy Resilience and Municipal Wastewater Treatment projects across the full engineering project lifecycle including Feasibility, Concept, FEED and EPC/EPCm Detailed Design project phases.

We are seeking to recruit a Lead/Principal Process Engineer to work within a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects in our Civil Nuclear & Defence Sector with a focus on our Nuclear Fuels projects. This may cover a range of projects from Concept Studies through to detailed design.

Working arrangement : This is a hybrid role with 2/3 days based at the Manchester office with the option for dynamic working.

Role Requirements

• 10/15 years experience in chemical/process engineering design for chemical plants.

• Good knowledge and experience of nuclear industry sector working practices and industry standards.

• Development of process design deliverables including process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, process design philosophies, P&ID's, process line list, cause and effects and process equipment and instrument.

• Good knowledge of the major project delivery process from work winning to project handover.

• Experience in chemical manufacturing and design; Gas and Liquid relief; solvent extraction; filteration; chemical reactions; solid handling/processing.

• Experience in leading nuclear effluent and emissions.

• Must be customer focussed by striving for excellence through understanding, anticipating and meeting their needs
