We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive team in a secondary specialist provision located in Guildford. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to manage their emotions and behavior, helping them engage in learning and achieve their potential. Your role will involve providing tailored support both in and outside the classroom, collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs
Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
Offer emotional support and help students build confidence and resilience
Support students during lessons and encourage active participation in classroom activities
Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to support behavior and well-being
About You:

Experience working with students with SEMH or additional needs is desirable but not essential
Patience, empathy, and a strong desire to help students succeed
Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
A proactive, flexible, and solutions-focused approach
A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
