Are you looking to work with children at a key developmental age? We are working with a school who are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team in Year 5. Their close-knit, community-focused primary school is committed to providing a nurturing environment that values the development and well-being of every child. As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to both the teacher and students, helping to create a positive learning environment and work to manage challenging behaviour in the classroom. You will be involved in various classroom activities, working one-on-one, leading small groups in pre-set work, and assisting with both academic and personal development tasks, ensuring that each child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide classroom support to the teacher, ensuring that lessons run smoothly.

Implement behaviour management strategies effectively to maintain a positive learning environment.

Work with individual students and small groups to provide targeted academic support.

Assist in preparing resources and materials for lessons.

Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour.

Support the social and emotional development of students.

Supervise students during break times and on school trips.

Candidate Requirements:

Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a Key Stage 2 setting.

Strong behaviour management skills and experience in handling challenging situations.

Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to work.

Basic understanding of the primary school curriculum.

A current DBS that is on the update service or are willing to obtain one.
