Reed/LTA are seeking a compassionate and attentive Pastoral Teaching Assistant to provide support for a Year 2 child in a primary school in Preston. This will be a full-time role 30 hours from 8:45 to 3:15 which equates to gross pay of £402.9 a week. The role requires a caring individual who can offer pastoral care, ensuring the child’s well-being throughout the school day.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Monitor the child for signs of fatigue and provide appropriate interventions to ensure rest and recovery as needed.
  • Accompany the child on the playground, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for play and social interaction.
  • Assist in maintaining the child’s hydration and overall comfort throughout the school day.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement, fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere.
  • Liaise with teachers and medical professionals to ensure the child’s health needs are met while at school.
  • Observe and report any concerns regarding the child’s well-being to the relevant staff members.
  • Support the child’s integration into school activities while being mindful of their physical limitations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting is preferred.
  • A caring and empathetic approach, with a focus on supporting children’s well-being.
  • Good observational skills to monitor the child’s health and comfort.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • A patient and nurturing disposition, with the ability to act calmly and promptly in various situations.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures within a school environment.
