Shift Team Leader - Warehouse Operations

Salary: Competitive + shift allowance ( to £40K )
Reports to: Shift Manager / Warehouse Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Team Leader to join our warehouse team. This role is vital in ensuring that operations run smoothly, accurately, and safely. You will lead a team of warehouse operatives to meet tight deadlines for picking, packing, and dispatching stock for our trade customers.

You'll be responsible for maintaining high operational standards, promoting a safe working environment, and motivating your team to achieve performance and accuracy targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate a team of warehouse operatives
Ensure all picking, packing, and dispatch tasks are completed efficiently and accurately
Delegate duties and monitor team performance throughout the shift
Carry out quality checks and ensure stock is handled and stored correctly
Manage inbound and outbound deliveries during the night shift
Report any discrepancies, damages, or stock issues to the Manager
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and company policies
Train and support new team members
Operate MHE (e.g. pallet trucks, forklifts) where required (training provided if needed)
Support stock takes and inventory accuracy
Handle last-minute changes to orders or delivery schedulesKey Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a supervisory/team leader role in a warehouse or logistics environment
Understanding of warehouse operations, particularly for trade or B2B supply
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to lead and motivate a team
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Comfortable working night shifts and in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer skills (for stock systems, shift reporting, etc.)
A forklift license or MHE experience is desirable but not essential
