Job Title: Disaster Recovery Specialist

Rate: £500 - £625p/d

We are seeking a highly skilled Disaster Recovery (DR) Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, scheduling & facilitating workshop sessions with relevant stakeholders/SMEs to create/update SIAs (System Impact Assessments), disaster recovery plans across different countries.

This role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that the design and implementation of application solutions meet necessary business and regulatory requirements related to continuity and resiliency, focusing on Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).

The role will involve creating/renewing Systems Impact Assessments (SIAs) with stakeholders, providing support where needed in developing disaster recovery plans (DRPs), and data backup recovery validation.

Responsibilities

• Systems Impact Assessments (SIAs): Schedule and facilitate workshops sessions with stakeholders across different business units to conduct new / renew existing SIAs, ensuring the identification of critical systems and their dependencies.
• Develop Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs): Schedule and facilitate workshops sessions with stakeholders across different business units to support in developing comprehensive disaster recovery plans that meet business and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business units, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure that DR plans are aligned with business objectives and compliance standards.
• RTO/RPO Compliance: Ensure that the design and implementation of application solutions meet Recovery Time Objectives and Recovery Point Objectives. Identify gaps and provide recommendations.
• DRP Exercises: Plan and support data backup recovery validation, and disaster recovery plan review exercises to validate the effectiveness and efficiency of DRPs.
• Provide subject matter expertise to internal customers, partners, and key contributors as required, fostering strong relationships and effective communication channels.

Work Experience

Required:

• Proven experience in Disaster Recovery planning and execution across different technology environments.
• Strong understanding of business continuity principles and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in developing disaster recovery plans (DRPs) and conducting Systems Impact Assessments (SIAs) in a multi-country environment.
• Knowledge of data backup testing/validation methodologies and DRP exercises.
• Proven experience in engagement with stakeholders and thirds parties.

Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across different countries and departments.
• Excellent understanding of best practice DR, Penetration testing combined with wider Information Security and risk management.
• Strong understanding of business and regulatory requirements related to continuity and resiliency, including RTOs and RPOs.
• Experience with designing and implementing application solutions to meet resiliency requirements.
• Proficiency in coordinating and conducting data backup tests and DRP exercises.
• A self- starter with the ability to work independently and virtually.
• Ability to present complex and highly technical issues in a simple easy to understand formats.
