Job Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing assessments and interventions for individuals with a range of physical, mental, and social care needs. This role involves working closely with service users, their families, and multi-disciplinary teams to promote independence and enhance quality of life through tailored occupational therapy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users' physical and mental health needs, with a focus on major and minor home adaptations.

* Carry out assessments and recommendations under the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) legislation and process.

* Provide expert advice on the design, provision, and implementation of adaptations to homes, workplaces, and other environments.

* Ensure compliance with Safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) in all assessments and care plans.

* Work in alignment with the Care Act to assess and plan for care and support needs.

* Develop individual therapy programs and interventions to improve service users' independence.

* Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure holistic care delivery.

* Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients, families, and carers in adapting to new equipment or living arrangements.

* Maintain up-to-date records and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Requirements:

* Qualification: Must hold a recognized Occupational Therapy qualification.

* Registration: Must be fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

* Experience: Proven experience in providing assessments and interventions for minor and major adaptations, including the use of DFG legislation and processes.

* Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and experience of Safeguarding protocols, Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and Care Act (including care and support needs).

* Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.

* Compliance: Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.

* Organizational: Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.

Desirable:

* Previous experience working in a social care setting or within the NHS.

* Ability to complete detailed reports and documentation in line with regulatory standards.

* Experience in training or mentoring junior staff.
