The Opportunity
As the demand for our services continues to grow our nuclear power business currently has an exciting opportunity for an innovative and enthusiastic Structural Integrity Consultant to join their clients across the civil nuclear market. Working as part of our nuclear power business you will help to link the capability of our multiple structural analysis teams to our clients' needs. You will work on the opportunities we face to ensure we can provide the best offering possible to our clients. Your role will help ensure increased focus and understanding of emergent requirements and ensure our business remains the supplier of choice for our clients. 

They specialise in supporting giga-scale, SMR and AMR programmes across the UK and internationally and our clients need support in design, GDA, operation, lifetime extension and defuelling. The multiple structural integrity teams within the UK provide expert structural engineering, finite element stress analysis, structural integrity analysis/assessment, structural integrity safety case and architect engineering to a range of customers across the broader nuclear industry including, nuclear power, decommissioning, MOD, etc.

The estimated salary will be in the region of £50- £65k and you will also be entitled to a wide range of benefits including the employer putting in over double the statutory amount towards your pension, healthcare, as well as 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, employee share scheme and many more.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Discussing and developing solutions with colleagues and customers.
Representing the business in technical meetings with clients and third parties.
Interfacing with customers throughout the lifecycle of projects.
Producing high quality technical reports on the outcome of your work.
Design and/or analysis and assessment of complex structures and components utilising knowledge of classical strength of materials, implementation of analytical techniques such as finite element analysis and the application of relevant codes & standards.
Checking and verification of the work of other team members.
Assisting in maintaining the technical capability/knowledge of the team.
Delivering work to time, cost and quality to ensure customer satisfaction. You will have the following Qualifications and experience
We are looking for a Chartered Engineer or Scientist in their discipline, educated to degree level in mechanical engineering (or other relevant degree) and with industrial experience and professionally accredited to IEng/CEng or working towards.
You will have a sound structural integrity background, preferably with experience in delivering projects in the nuclear sector.
You will have great communication skills to enable you to interact with our clients, understand their needs and support bidding and project delivery
Experience of Structural Integrity project delivery.
Experience in responding to tender requests.
Excellent communication skills.
BEng (Hons)/MEng or equivalent in a relevant STEM degree.
Proficient in application of structural design codes such as ASME, Eurocodes, British Standards.
Curiosity, a questioning attitude and analytical skills to drive innovative solutions.
