Sexual Health Officer (Liverpool)Merseyside (with hybrid working and some travel to Manchester)The OrganisationOur client is a charity supporting the needs of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans.Our client is now looking for a Sexual Health Officer to join their team on a part-time basis, working 18.5 hours per week, for a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027.The Benefits- Salary of £23,088 per annum (pro rata)- Generous leave allowance (26 days’ annual leave rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service) pro rata- Sector leading 10% employers’ contributory pension- Your birthday as a day’s leave- Staff counselling scheme- Cycle to Work / Technology Scheme- Season ticket loan- Office 'buddy’ scheme for all new starters- Free annual flu jab- Free VDU eye care test- Staff social budget- Dedicated training budget for each member of staff and support with personal development plans- Flexible working to support a healthy work/life balance (including time off in lieu and flexi-time)- Relaxed dress codeThis is the perfect opportunity for an individual with experience in delivering health and wellbeing services and interventions to join our client’s vital organisation.You’ll discover a pivotal role, helping them to drive impactful change, as well as advancing your career alongside their dedicated team.Join our client and be part of a movement that not only changes minds and outlooks but brings hope, builds communities and ensures that everyone has a voice.The RoleAs a Sexual Health Officer, you will support the delivery of targeted sexual health and wellbeing services.Working towards key quality, performance and activity targets, you will help our client to reduce stigma by increasing awareness of sexual and reproductive health and related issues.You will deliver a range of targeted sexual health interventions, such as workshops, brief interventions and one-to-one support in a wide variety of settings across Liverpool with intersectional LGBT people.Additionally, you will:- Lead on the recruitment, training and ongoing management of our client’s volunteer team, who will deliver sexual health interventions- Attend a range of regular outreach events and distribution venues- Produce reports- Work with the Sexual Health Co-ordinator to deliver our client’s Sexual Health community strategyAbout YouTo be considered as a Sexual Health Officer, you will need:- Experience in delivering health and wellbeing services and interventions- Experience in content creation and the development of resources- Experience of volunteering work or co-ordinating activities with volunteers- Working knowledge of sexual health, particularly in relation to the LGBT community- Knowledge of effective communication strategies for a range of audiences- A demonstrable understanding of how to co-ordinate activities and people effectivelyThe closing date for this role is 15th July 2024.Other organisations may call this role Sexual Health Co-ordinator, Sexual Health and Wellbeing Officer, Sexual Health Outreach Worker, or LGBT Sexual Health Advisor.As this role focuses on working for a service specifically designed by and for trans and non-binary communities, our client believes lived experience of being trans and/or non-binary and/or having experienced NHS gender transition services will be hugely valuable to the role.
