Publicity Manager - Publishing - London - £35,000 - 6 month FTC

Wise May are looking for a Publicity Manager to join a busy Publishing business in London within a friendly and supportive team.

We are looking for a bright, friendly, enthusiastic candidate to join this brand new contemporary office. The candidate should be flexible and able to work under pressure to ensure the company delivers against its objectives in a timely manner.

Duties include:

- Being part of a culture of collaboration and communication within the team, divisions, departments and global teams

- Offer support and assistance to the Team Assistant: sharing experience and knowledge of working on a range of titles

- Creative idea generation creative planning; collaborating with other teams to create fully integrated campaigns working closely with marketing, brand and social teams

- Maintain extensive children’s media relations and extensive knowledge of the wider media landscape, across digital and social media

- Maintain strong working relationships journalists, librarians, retailers, festival programmers and key literary gatekeepers with the aim of securing feature and review coverage

- Maintaining and grow publicity media database lists

- Maintaining up to date and detailed documents for own campaigns

- Exemplary author and agent care with regular and prompt communications

Skills required:

- Proven track record of generating eye-catching, stand out PR coverage and events, ideally at a trade publishing house

- Detailed working knowledge of PR and strong, established media connections

- Motivated to develop own understanding of the media and the wider children’s book market

- Enthusiasm to find new and innovative ways to promote our books

- Strong organisational and administrative skills, ability to prioritise busy workload
