We are seeking a Regional Operations Manager (South Region) who will work alongside the wider Corporate & Commercial Operations Team, responsible for ensuring that operational strategy is embedded in the South Region to support business growth through the delivery of seamless day to day operational functions and processes.

Please note this is a full time, permanent opportunity working from home but travel across the South region is required.

Overview:

  • Working in partnership with the regional trading team, execute the operations strategy delivering to drive business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Work with functional leads and contribute expertise on operational matters, ensuring key information is considered during decision making, prioritisation, planning and execution of BAU and Projects.
  • Supporting the Operations Director in ensuring that the Company is operationally compliant with relevant legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Embraces and exploits data, technology and innovation to optimise profitable performance and enhance operational excellence.
  • As part of the Corporate & Commercial Operations team, ensuring positive contribution to an efficient and highly motivated operations community to deliver superior business outcomes.

Knowledge:

  • Strong Operational management background, preferably in a Commercial broking environment.
  • A track record in building and managing strong and credible relationships with cross functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience with target operating models, process mapping, design thinking and workflow analysis.

Skills:

  • Able to interpret and convert data into insights to inform proposals and influence operational matters to solve business challenges or opportunities.
  • Commercial awareness to ensure that early ideas are cost effective, with limited tech input.
  • Ability to communicate with senior level executives internally and externally with the intention of building long lasting work relationships.
  • Extremely well organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Strategic mindset with strong business acumen and ability to implement strategic initiatives with proven track record of same.
  • Curiosity and confidence to challenge the status-quo.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to adapt style to different audiences and has a can-do mentality.

Regulatory

  • Adhere to the principles set by the FCA.
  • Adhere to Howden service standards and procedures, accepted good market practice, and the CII Code of Ethics, to ensure the best interest of the client at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.
  • Ensure all records and communications with clients are accurately recorded and filed in the correct manner.
  • Comply with the Bribery Act 2010, and other such applicable regulations in place from time to time
  • Ensure that you do not breach any applicable sanctions imposed, or deal with embargoed entities
  • Comply with relevant anti-money laundering regulations in place from time to time.
