Location: Bristol – HMP Bristol

Hours: Full time and part time, multiple shifts available
Salary: £29,970-£36,483 per annum, dependent on experience

As part of the South West Prison Healthcare contract awarded to Oxleas NHS trust in 2022, they are now able to expand their recruitment and are looking for compassionate, knowledgeable and motivated Pharmacy Technicians to join their friendly team based in Bristol.
The healthcare team have a real impact on promoting health and well-being to those in prison and Oxleas pride themselves on using skills and strategies that instil hope for patients’ future resettlement back into the community. Oxleas deliver Mental Health, Physical Health, Pharmacy and Clinical Substance Misuse in an integrated healthcare delivery model to provide effective and responsive care to improve wellbeing and support better outcomes in the future.

What will you be doing?
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package with direct patient contact, based on the prison service's needs. Working on the prison wings, you can expect to be involved in everything from medicine management, dispense medications, screening drug charts & patient counselling.
What do you need?
- NVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Registration with GPhC as a pharmacy technician
- Excellent organisational skills
Desirable
- Working towards Accredited Checking or MM Technician Certificate
- Some understanding of mental illness and substance misuse and their treatment
