A fantastic opportunity for a Lead Estimator to join a prominent civil engineering firm, specializing in maintaining and renewing critical infrastructure across the UK supporting clients such as Wessex Water, Bristol Water, National Grid, Great Western Railway, and Network Rail. Their services encompass heavy civil engineering, clean and wastewater pipelines, tunnelling, and deep shaft construction.

As an Estimator you will:

* Handle tender preparation from acceptance of enquiry through to final submission working to strict deadlines throughout.

* Prepare detailed analytical estimates from first principles within defined timescales on a wide range of tenders.

* Ensure that the build up to the tender submission and all supporting documents are maintained in a logical and sequential manner, liaising with clients to obtain information where necessary.

* Produce a fully detailed quotation in accordance with the tender documentation and in line with Company Procedures.

* Make a preliminary assessment of overhead costs and prepare tender summaries for management agreement.

* Prepare material and labour take-off for pricing.

* Participate in handover of successful bids to delivery team.

* Accurately populate and complete client pricing schedules as part of tender return submission.

* Ensure that all assumptions/exclusions are fully detailed both internally and externally to the customer within tender return submission.

* Maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

* Attend site visits where required to build or verify asset data.

* Support internal operational projects when required.

* To be creative to develop innovative alternative solutions to provide a competitive edge.

* Attend live sites to capture data and develop actual unit costs for the continual improvement of the estimating function.

* Assist with the preparation of Early Contractor Involvement solutions and reports.

Our client requires Estimators with:

* Degree/HND/HNC/OND in Construction / Engineering based subject.

* Minimum 4 years' experience within a construction delivery team

* Estimating experience preferred but not essential as full training and mentoring provided

Salary and benefits include:

* Up to £55,000 per annum
