I have a FANTASTIC opportunity for an EXPERIENCED and COMMITTED individual to become a Senior Children's Support Worker within a STUNNING children's residential service in Bridgwater. You will be supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 years old with EBD. (Emotional, Behavioural, Difficulties)

- Contract: Full-time, Permanent
- Shift Pattern: 2 days on 4 days off. Working 16 hours per day with a sleep-in across both days.

The role:
- To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- To support the manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, and budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards.
- To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
- Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.
The successful candidate:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker within a similar social care setting or with Young People ESSENTIAL
- Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent ESSENTIAL
- Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport the young people ESSENTIAL
- Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge ESSENTIAL
