Alexander Daniels are currently recruiting for a Tax Accountant on behalf of a well-established business based in Leicestershire on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting into the Head of Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for all of the business' tax affairs including VAT and HMRC legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

• VAT Analysis and Returns - making payments efficiently and on time
• Reconciling the VAT on the balance sheet
• Working with external parties and HMRC regarding queries
• Keeping up to date with legislation, making any changes required and communicating these changes around the business
• Be responsible for ensuring VAT codes are correct on the system and being followed by all departments
• Take responsbility for improvement to processes and systems updates

The ideal candidate will be a technically minded fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/CTA/ACCA or equivalent) with proven experience managing VAT in a previous role. You must possess good communication skills able to liaise effectively internally and with external tax bodies. Experience using SAP or similar and advanced Excel/Power BI skills would be advantageous but by no means essential.
