Our client, a co-educational specialist provision school based in Bristol, is seeking to appoint a dedicated and visionary Headteacher to lead their school community. The provision supports children and young people with complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, often combined with other additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic direction and drive continuous school improvement with a focus on high-quality, trauma-informed education.

Foster a safe, inclusive and aspirational environment where all pupils feel valued and supported.

Lead, motivate and develop a committed team of teaching and support staff.

Oversee the implementation of personalised learning programmes and therapeutic approaches.

Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, local authorities, and multi-agency teams.

Ensure robust safeguarding procedures and statutory compliance across all aspects of the provision.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A successful track record of senior leadership within an SEMH or specialist setting.

A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and the complexities surrounding SEMH education.

Outstanding leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Experience in curriculum innovation, behaviour support strategies, and inclusive practice.

A passionate commitment to improving life chances for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.

Relevant teaching qualifications and QTS.
