A Trainee Legal Cashier/Administrator is required for a leading Legal firm based in London.

The successful candidate will ideally have legal administration experience and be looking to train to become a Legal Cashier. They will work with and support the existing accounts team and carry out duties such as :


• Covering reception, meeting and greeting visitors.


• Opening and scanning the post. Dealing with hand deliveries and collections and organising couriers.


• Managing and dealing with the email inbox.


• Management of the central diary ensuring tasks are responded to and where appropriate.


• Assisting and preparing for social events/occasions.


• Assisting with building facilities, dealing with issues that arise, organising call outs as

and when required.


• Dealing with photocopying/scanning/binding/printing.


• Dealing with enquiries for archived Files/Deeds/Wills including locating and delivering to staff member or, if off site, ordering for return and keeping records in appropriate systems.

Duties to be trained on:


• Managing the firm’s online banking facility including following instructions to process electronic payments and allocating receipts received.


• Posting receipts and payments to the accounts system.


• Posting of disbursements, such as Land Registry, Property Searches and Court fees to the accounts system.


• Client and office bank reconciliation.


• Processing invoices, checking amounts, authorising and allocating bill numbers.


• Posting inter-ledger transfers and client to office transfers to the accounts system.


• Banking cheques and raising client and office cheques.


• Dealing with general account queries raised by fee-earners.


• Handling petty cash.


• Assist with Credit Control duties when required, including covering periods of absence.
