Job Summary: We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our Business Tax team in London. The successful candidate will assist in providing comprehensive tax services to a diverse portfolio of clients. This role involves managing tax compliance, delivering strategic tax advice, and supporting the development of junior team members. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of UK tax regulations, strong analytical skills, and excellent client management abilities.
Key Responsibilities: - Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK tax laws.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of tax documents, including quarterly and annual tax provisions.
- Manage tax audits and handle inquiries from tax authorities.
- Tax Advisory:
- Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax efficiency.
- Advise clients on the tax implications of various business decisions and transactions.
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues and prepare well-documented advice.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong and responsive client relationships.
- Communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to clients.
- Assist in the development and delivery of client presentations and proposals.
- Team Leadership:
- Support the Tax Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Business Tax team.
- Mentor and train junior staff, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment.
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all tax practices adhere to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to tax compliance and advisory services.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on clients and the business.
Qualifications and Skills: - ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business tax, preferably within a public accounting firm or large corporate environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in tax compliance and advisory services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong client service orientation and relationship management skills.
