Finance Manager, Bio-Tech Scale Up, Central London (2 days p/w), £70-75k + Share Options

We are working with a Bio-Technology scale-up at the forefront of cancer curing technology who are looking to hire a Finance Manager into their team.

After a very successful series C funding round and a commercial launch planned for the end of the year, this is a newly created role to continue to bring their finance function in-house. Reporting directly to the impressive Financial Controller and with great visibility across the business, this is an integral hire.

Responsibilities

  • Taking full responsibility for critical month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Ensuring efficient cash flow management by preparing and executing weekly payment runs and forecasting immediate financial requirements.
  • Overseeing the accuracy and integrity of financial records to ensure they are up-to-date and correctly maintained.
  • Establishing and enhancing a credit control function as they progresses towards its commercial launch, to optimise revenue collection and minimise credit risk.
  • Managing all aspects of VAT accounting, including preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Supporting the preparation of month-end KPIs and dashboards: Assisting in the development and analysis of key performance indicators and financial dashboards to provide insights into business performance.
  • Collaborating with external auditors and preparing necessary documentation to facilitate a smooth and accurate year-end audit process.
  • Promoting best practices and driving initiatives to standardise processes, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified accountant ACCA/ACA or equivalent with 2+ years PQE
  • Experience with AP/AR and posting journals
  • Inventory Management experience
