Reporting to the Programme Manager for Futures Afloat, you'll be the lead for day to day for stakeholder and engagement aspects for the Trinity House Futures Afloat Programme. Futures Afloat will put in place arrangements that will replace Trinity House Multi-Functional Tender vessels the THV Patricia and THV Galatea. This a key project for Trinity House and is a large value investment with a high level of interest from stakeholders. It will drive a strong competition through a pipeline of ship building activity that will also refer to other ship replacement activity happening in the wider General Lighthouse Authority community.

As the Futures Afloat Stakeholder and Engagement lead, you will be required to horizon-scan for suitable communications opportunities, design attractive and innovative content and events to promulgate messages, and build connections within and outside Trinity House (TH) to ensure the Programme is marketed successfully.

You will co-ordinate external events with stakeholders, use existing contacts, market specialists and connections to align messages and identify synergies, and use excellent drafting skills to create convincing, compelling messaging to explain the Futures Afloat programme.

Communication is key in delivery of any programme or project, you will ensure that the programme can communicate the objectives and outcomes for these both in written and verbal form. Identifying and constructing robust engagement plans with the various stakeholders, who have different interests and influence, and tailoring the approach to them is a prime objective.

The role will require you to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders and supporting resources to achieve the above across Trinity House, including other team members, operational stakeholders, legal, commercial, financial and technical leads, Department for Transport (DfT), Cabinet Office and wider government stakeholders.

You will be a member of the project and programme boards for Futures Afloat and will provide an update on the stakeholder and engagement elements of the programme as well as any other areas as and when required.

Working with colleagues and external advisors you will lead on the development of the communications and engagement for the Futures Afloat business case ensuring that the case meets the HMT Green book standard and is robust and fit for purpose and aligns with Trinity House's needs.

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

-Experience in leading on the planning and execution of communication and engagement strategies.

-Experience in working on communications and engagement in major projects in Government.

-Excellent drafting and proofing skills

-Experience of working on projects and programmes that are delivered within Public Procurement Rules and Policy.
