Main Duties

* Machining & welding

* Reacting to mechanical breakdowns

* Planning & undertaking scheduled maintenance

* responding to breakdowns quicky & efficiently

* Fault diagnosis & repair

* Accurate record keeping

* Ability to work on/ with; Machining (milling & lathe), basic welding, pumps (diaphragm/ vain), Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Clutches, Chains, Belts, Bearing and small gear boxes

Requirements

Qualifications

* 5 or more GCSE's at grades A-C (must include English, Mathematics & Science)

* Time served mechanical apprentice (essential)

* HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (desirable)

Skills/ Experience

* Counterbalance forklift license (desirable)

* Experience within a BRC Certified workplace (desirable)

* Experience responding to breakdowns and completing fault diagnosis

* Hands on approach

* Self motivated and able to manage workload and conflicting priorities

* Good attention to detail

* Analytical skills

Principal functions

The role of Mechanical Engineer he role holder will work with a wider maintenance team and will be required to plan and undertake routine maintenance as well as being able to prioritise and respond to breakdowns. The role holder will work on a continental shift pattern
