Science Cover Supervisor - Secondary School - Immediate Start

Location: Bulwell, Nottingham (NG6)

Pay: £450 - £500 per week take home.

Work pattern: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 16:00

Contract: Immediate start. Initially for the rest of the academic year with a potential to extend.

LTF Recruitment is seeking a Science Cover Supervisor for a forward-thinking secondary school in Bulwell, Nottingham.

This long-term role offers the chance to gain valuable classroom experience, ideal for Science graduates considering a career in teaching or for individuals already experienced in working with young people. As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure the smooth running of classes in the absence of regular teachers, managing behaviour and delivering pre-set lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned/your lessons to students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) across various subjects.
• Ensure classroom behaviour is managed effectively, maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Support students with any questions or concerns they may have during the lesson.
• Monitor student progress and ensure they stay focused on the assigned tasks.
• Provide feedback inline with the department policy.
• Support the school with additional duties, including break and lunchtime supervision.

Essential Criteria:

• Previous experience working with young people in a secondary school setting as teacher or tutor.
• A Science teaching qualification or Science degree.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive and flexible attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
