We are working with a well-run, oversubscribed secondary school in Greater Manchester to recruit a permanent Facilities Manager.

We are looking for a School Facilities Manager (Caretaker) who has the ability to be flexible with their working hours. This role will generally involve working 9am - 3pm Monday to Friday but also requires covering colleagues between the hours of 6am and 10pm. Flexibility to work either the day or evening shifts is essential.

As a key position, we require a proactive and organised individual who can effectively manage various aspects of school maintenance and health and safety procedures. If you have the necessary skills and experience, we would love to hear from you.

As part of the role, some of your responsibilities will include:
• Be a principal key holder for the academy and attend emergency call outs as necessary.
• Be responsible for the school's security, including the opening and closing of the school on a daily basis, possibly including occasional evenings, weekends.
• Carry out in-house statutory testing as required and general maintenance tasks.

What are the job requirements?
• Recognised Trade Qualification (i.e. joinery, plumbing, plastering, building etc)
• CSCS card
• Competent with maintaining general repair/small builds experience to plant and equipment
• Site security
• Undertake routine inhouse inspections, tests and legal checks
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Ability of working to deadlines or specific contract periods
• Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety, Fire Safety and COSHH
• Ability to follow instructions, written and verbal
• Ability to establish good professional relationships at all levels.
