About the Role:

Our client is looking for experienced Senior or Principal Civil Design Engineers to join their growing team, delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK. With a significant workload secured for AMP8 and beyond, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in transforming water services and contributing to the improvement of river health.

Based in Manchester or Leeds, you will be involved in designing and delivering sustainable solutions, including pipelines, sewer systems, pumping stations, and flood prevention schemes. These projects are integral to enhancing the resilience and efficiency of water networks while protecting the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, sewer systems, pumping stations, and flood prevention measures.
Prepare conceptual, outline, and detailed designs for infrastructure that enhances water quality and minimises environmental impacts.
Support the delivery of projects aimed at improving river health and achieving environmental compliance.
Manage projects from inception to completion, including technical reports, appraisals, and design documentation.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and graduate engineers.
Engage with clients and stakeholders to develop collaborative and innovative solutions.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Support innovation, drive efficiency, and contribute to low-carbon and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Contribute to the successful delivery of a high workload during AMP8 and prepare for future programmes.

What Our Client is Looking For:

Proven experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design, including pipelines, sewer systems, and pumping stations.
Strong technical skills and the ability to lead multidisciplinary projects focused on water networks.
Experience in delivering projects aimed at improving river health and meeting environmental standards.
Solid understanding of industry regulations, including CDM requirements and environmental compliance.
Chartered status (or working towards chartership) with a relevant professional institution such as ICE or CIWEM.
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications advantageous).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and project teams.
