Senior Environmental Officer - Global Chemical Manufacturer near Blackpool: Up to £51.7k+Package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Senior Environmental Officer to join a leading Global Chemical Manufacturing Company based in Blackpool.

This permanent position is perfectly suited for Environmental professionals with a robust background in environmental management & sustainability within the Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Construction or Process Industries.

Reporting into the Environmental Manager, the Senior Environmental Officer will be responsible for:

Supporting the Environmental Manager and Head of Sustainability with development and implementation of Sustainability action plans.
Accountable for delivery of emissions reduction in accordance Carbon Footprint goals.
Accountable for data collection and reporting to assure compliance with ESG reporting requirements (including carbon and energy reporting)
Development and implementation of a company-wide Sustainability training and employee engagement scheme to support a behavioural and cultural change with regards to Sustainability issues.
Work with the Senior Quality Manager to deliver internal & external audit programme
The schemes will cover the full spectrum from "hands on" with the operating team, to advising managers of the implications of SHE legislation / Best Practice.

Required Skills and Qualifications for Senior Environmental Officer Role:

Environmental & Sustainability: Experience in a Manufacturing, Production, Construction, Process or Engineering environment, within an Environmental and /or Sustainability, a Quality or Continuous Improvement function.
Environment Management & Sustainability Standards: Experience with industry standards related to environmental management & sustainability. Deep understanding of the latest trends and regulations in environmental management to maintain the forefront position of the company in the market.
Experience in internal / external auditing (inc. supplier audits)
IEMA - Ideally hold IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) Associate Member or equivalent
Experience of working on the implementation and supporting the maintenance of Sustainability improvements / Environmental Management Systems
Good IT skills (Microsoft Office and Management Systems).
Ability to Influence and persuade without direct line authority.
Self-motivated and able to plan manage, influence and work with minimum supervision/input.
