Warehouse Operations Manager - Rutland - 43/46k

ALH Recruitment are working exclusively with our industry leading client who are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operations Manager with immediate effect, based in the Rutland area.

The successful candidate will have shared-user experience and have a very flexible approach to work to ensure all duties are completed on a daily basis.

This is a day shift role - Mon to Fri.

Overall Purpose and Accountabilities

Oversee the day-to-day management of operations, employees and health and safety, ensuring high levels of productivity and that service levels are met within the agreed contractual obligations of customers under its remit.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the warehouse management teams; inspiring, engaging, directing, motivating and encouraging to enable them to perform at a high level, as well as ensuring that company HR policies are followed and upheld.

Be the escalation point of complaints or issues through the warehouse management teams, effectively managing the process to resolution.

Overseeing the management of warehouse resources, and plan for future volumes, including task prioritisation, to achieve agreed customer service levels and financial targets.

Encourage the management team to operate efficiently (monitoring productivity, breaks, sickness and timekeeping) and counsel the management team where needed.

Provision of timely operating data to the Administration Manager and Systems and Invoicing Supervisor, and to customers to enable completion of internal reports, agency timesheets, customer reports and KPI's.

Manage customer and consumable stock levels to ensure adequate levels are maintained at all times to ensure service levels are achieved.

Work collaboratively and pro-actively with all key stakeholders within the business, including the commercial team, transport, the pad and other warehouse teams to both ensure high levels of ongoing communication and to identify and implement new initiatives to enhance overall customer service and business efficiencies.

Pro-actively seek continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives for all warehouse systems and procedures and devise ways to streamline systems, processes, and policies and implement.

Working collaboratively with the Administration Manager, periodically communicate with customers to discuss operation issues performance levels, and future requirements.

Support the recruitment/interview potential new starters (including agency staff) and induct and integrate them to ensure low attrition levels. Ensure all new starters are fully trained, have regular weekly check ins and initiate a good start to the business from the offset.

Maintain standards of hygiene, security and the health and safety of everyone within your span of control including any behaviours that impact others, ensuring all check sheets are completed, all incidents, near misses are reported and all team members within your remit are trained in the use of equipment, safety procedures and operational tasks

Pro-actively manage the health and safety including preparation, communication and training of PUWER assessments, risk assessments, safe systems of work and toolbox talks and the investigation of incidents, to include root cause analysis where appropriate.
