Job Title: Neighbourhood Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Estate Walkabouts: Conduct regular estate walkabouts to assess the condition of the housing estate. Identify any issues, maintenance needs, or improvements required.

• Communal Inspections: Inspect communal areas (such as common rooms, hallways, and shared facilities) to ensure they are well-maintained and meet standards.

• Untidy Gardens: Identify and address untidy gardens within the estate. Provide guidance to tenants on maintaining their outdoor spaces.

• General Estate Management Support: Assist the team with other estate management duties as needed. This may include administrative tasks, coordination, and collaboration with colleagues.

• Confidentiality and Data Protection: Handle sensitive information with strict adherence to confidentiality, data protection, and freedom of information guidelines.

• Meetings and Briefings: Attend internal and external meetings, team briefings, and staff conferences as required.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 / BTEC National Certificate or equivalent, or relevant experience/transferable skills.

• Effective communication with residents and colleagues.

• Customer-focused and responsive service delivery.

• Experience in social housing, estate management, tenancy management, or community safety-related work.

• Ability to use initiative and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Office and bespoke IT systems.

• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet service needs.
