1:1 Learning Support Assistant
Primary School | Merton (SW19)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a wonderful primary school in Merton (SW19). The successful candidate will provide tailored support to a child with specific learning needs, ensuring they have access to a high-quality education and the best possible learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs (SEN) under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
Implement individualized learning plans and strategies.
Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Monitor and report on the pupil's progress to the class teacher and SENCO.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support for the pupil. - Help with personal care tasks, if required. - Attend relevant training and professional development sessions.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children in a school setting.
Understanding of SEN and experience in supporting children with additional needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning).
